Bio

Dr. Blake Hallinan is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Communication and Journalism at the Hebrew University and a member of the ERC-funded DigitalValues project. They combine the critical traditions of Science and Technology Studies and Cultural Studies with an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to social scientific research to investigate how digital platforms produce normative standards, the implications for cultural production, and the possibilities for developing more participatory forms of platform governance. They run the Participatory Platform Governance Lab and teach classes on technology and society, public speaking, and academic writing.
